About Tougheditor.com Tougheditor.com is run by Stephanie Barton, a freelance writer and editor with more than a decade of experience.
My career began at Bantam Doubleday Dell, where I worked for three years in editorial production, learning the ropes of publishing.
A move to Texas forced me to answer the call of my inner nerd, and I became a tech writer and editor for NewTek, an Emmy-award winning software company. I wrote the manual for Video Toaster [2] from the ground up and earned praise in PC World magazine along with the undying love of the user community.
With my editorial bonnet firmly tied on, I began freelancing for Lguide.com, San Antonio Weddings and others, writing and editing articles, reviews, and web content. I contracted as the PR Director for a nonprofit, Gemini Ink, and pulled in national attention for them in The New York Times and on the CBS Early Show.
Time moved on and so did I. I moved to Europe, where I served as the remote Editor-in-Chief for San Antonio Weddings and then as the Editor-in-Chief for a small lifestyle magazine, freeStyle. I continued to take on freelance gigs with clients in the United States.
Now I live and freelance in New Mexico, where I gaze out my window at the Sandia mountains as I edit books for Wiley & Sons, write articles for Forbes media, and put my skills to work for local firms. |
